The UK rail industry needs a growing supply chain to satisfy customer demands today and for many years to come.
This workstream aims to develop and encourage activities and behaviours to increase confidence as well as removing the barriers to growth, allowing the supply chain to reach its potential. This will involve listening to the supply chain and working with client groups to develop actions and initiatives.
In recent months the RSG has consulted with the supply chain through a number of workshop events. More recently, the Group has carried out a cross-industry survey to understand the extent and effect of two significant barriers to growth: late payments and product and service substitution.
More work will follow to understand how these issues can be addressed, particularly with the client groups. Work will also continue to develop a better understanding of current procurement practices for the benefit of customers, client groups and the supply chain.
